the other day i took some pictures of a bouquet of flowers that i've had for a couple weeks now. they are a beautiful yellow. so today i painted from one of the pictures in watercolor. the more i paint with this media, the more i find myself relaxed. =) and that's a good thing.
]]>Yesterday I finished the orange painting.I call it Divine, which is another word for anticipation. As my husband and I wait to close on our first home, we wait with anticipation and excitement. Orange is one of those colors that brings me happiness. It's bright, cheery...but in this painting there is more to it than just the color orange. There are layers of green, yellow, reds and browns. It's the layering that gives it depth and creates that world of unknown.

Remember when I posted images of Night and Day? Well, I have been wanting to find a way to market my sculpture a little more and found a website: www.sculpture.net. You can't really upload images unless you are in a forum. I thought I would add Night and Day and see if I got any feedback. I guess I was hoping for positive feedback, not rude comments. It's been quite awhile since I've created a painting that I really like. My newest piece, White Grass, is one of my new favorites. I was inspired by my friend Elayna and her gorgeous hand painted silks. To me this painting reflects the coming of spring, new beginnings, and peacefullness.
Yesterday my sweet hubby made me a frame for the painting. He's pretty new to woodworking, but is really enjoying it. So I thought I'd spring a new project on him. When I returned from church last night, he already had it hanging in the living room! It looks so good. Thanks sweetie! xoxo
...I found out this weekend that I need to renew my membership to BoundlessGallery. So, I'll be doing that today. =) I also want to continue with this grass series. The next one is going to be smaller, but hopefully have some key similarities.
i slept in today! that doesn't happen very often. actually proud of myself! =) took the dogs for a nice walk, hung out with my baby, painted, ran errands... the usual. and then i checked the mail. i've been waiting to find out if i was accepted into the public artscape for boulder city again this year. well, i my slides came back and i didn't get in. =( oh well. maybe i can get in to another show. at least i tried. i did get a present in the mail though which totally made my day and forget about sculpture. my girlfriend elayna sent me two beautiful scarves that she handpainted. i had told her a couple weeks ago that i was going to buy the orange one. so she sent it to me AND another one that is green and yellow. they are absolutely gorgeous! i'm going to have them framed so i can hang them in our new house! oh yeah, i didn't tell you? we're moving! we found the perfect home for our family. so if all works out, we should be out of here with in a month or two.
]]>The girls are back and standing! My two newest sculptures were welded onto their base today AND sandblasted! I am so excited to work on them tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, but excited all the same.

]]>Awhile back I had opened up another store on etsy. I wanted to just sell my photography there. Well, today I decided to try out ACEO cards. I have made a few, but never really tried to sell or trade them. So I uploaded about four and then ran off to do something else. Like I usually do. Later when I checked my email, I saw I had a sale! Thalia's Wonderland! How exciting! Now this is no way for me to get into the studio to actually paint something now is it? Nope. I had big plans of painting all day too. Instead I've been working on my store. But that's okay. I still have tomorrow.
